It's December, 6th 2009 and we've had the first snow of the season. My husband is out cleaning up the snow - a heavy wet mix which is the worst kind of snow to get. And, if we don't get any warm days in the next few days this layer of snow will freeze and be with us all winter. Of, joyful! The price of living in New England! LOL LOL

While cleaning up snow is torture - especially for my husband - I just love snowmen and snow-lady dolls. I'm not sure why. Maybe it has to do with their carrot noses or bright white bodies. Maybe it's because they can be made out of any medium conceivable. Maybe it's because they're so delightful and create warm memories of childhood. Playing in the snow. Snowball fights, etc.

In thinking about the snow I decided that the "Instant Download E-Pattern" for the months of December and January for our Twelve Months of Sewing Club should be one of my favorite snow-lady e-patterns. I decided to select LW219LWOEP "Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!"
"Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!" is very concerned about her bird
friends and their survival over the long, cold winter months.

In fact she is so concerned she asked her husband, "Doug, The Handy
Dandy Gentleman!" to make her several birdhouses that she could put in
the yarn to help her feathered friends.

The problem is that Petronella doesn't want just any birdhouses. She
wants fancy Victorian birdhouses, with style and class. Lots of details
and intricate molding.

Doug, on the other hand, doesn't want to invest so much time in making
birdhouses that are just going to be destroyed by Petronella's fine
feathered friends. He doesn't want to make them, but he loves to please
Petronella.

"Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!" is a 13" squared
bottomed self-standing Victorian snow-lady warm & natural cloth
doll. She has an embroidered face with black bead eyes, resin carrot
nose, outline embroidered mouth, and blushed cheeks.

She has a full head of curly white mohair hair that is barely controlled under her lace trimmed and gathered bonnet.

She is wearing her favorite felt jacket with top stitching along all
the edges, lined and bow decorated front pockets, and lace trimmed
front panel edges. Her jacket is secured in the front with four buttons
and two large fringed scarves are tied around her neck and then in a
knot in the front.

She is also wearing a coordinated two tier lined cape with lined and raised collar.

"Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!" knows how to take care of her
feathered friends. her problem is that she loves everything and
anything Victorian and wants everything Doug makes to be of the finest
material and finest workmanship. Even if it's only going to be used for
her fine, feathered friends. They deserve quality, too!

We hope you enjoy making "Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!"

Don't forget to tell us which Linda Walsh Originals E-Pattern* (*of equal or lessor value) you want emailed to you.
It's November, 3rd 2009 and it's windy outside. It's sunny - which is wonderful, but a bit windy. I don't mind that. I love the Fall season when there's a crisp coolness in the air, a little breeze blowing, and leaves falling. There's just something about this season and all the holidays that I find inviting. Halloween has just passed which means Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it.

In thinking about the upcoming holidays I decided that the "Instant Download E-Pattern" for the month of November for our Twelve Months of Sewing Club should be one of my favorite Christmas e-patterns. I decided to select LW191LWOEP "Mrs. St. Nicholas - A Little Plump, But Happy!" She's a little on the plump side, but that makes her charming.

So, how does the featured pattern deal work? one of the nicest woman you'd ever want to meet. She loves her life at
the North Pole, loves her husband, and loves doing whatever she can to
help him get ready for Christmas Eve.

She's ready, willing, and able. Now don't let a little bit of
"plumpness" fool you. Mrs. Claus may be "plump" but she is as fit as a
fiddle. She has to be to get everything done that needs to be done for
Christmas Eve.

She might be cooking for the elves and Santa - they do tend to get a little hungry after all that hard work.

Or she might be crafting something for the good boys and girls. There's
always so many presents that have to be made. Everyone has to pitch in
and help.

Or she might be decorating for the holidays. They do tend to have a lot
of decorations at the North Pole! Floral crafts are her favorite.

Or she might be washing and cleaning. Elves do tend to be messy - especially the boy elves.

Or, she might be exercising the reindeer. They, too, need to be in shape for their journey.

Or, she may be playing nurse to the elves who have the flu. Elves tend
to overwork themselves and get a little run down - especially the boy
elves.

Or she might be running to the grocery store. Even Santa and Mrs. Claus
need to get supplies. They like to shop at the North Pole Walmart.

Or she might be paying the bills. Santa does tend to rack up the bills.

Or she might be babysitting some of the little elves. Reading a story
to the little elves is her favorite time because she just loves to
embellish.

Or she might be mending some of Santa's suits. He does tend to put on
some weight around the holidays and Mrs. Clause has to let his suits
out a little.

"Mrs. St. Nicholas - A Little Plump, But Happy!" is a 23" country Mrs.
Claus from our "Pleasantly Plump Series." She is a squared bottomed
self-standing cloth and wood doll. Her arms and hands are wired and her
cloth head and cloth body are supported by a wood dowel and wood base.

Her face is embroidered and she has brown water colored and sunken
eyes, an embroidered and raised nose, and a red outline embroidered
mouth. Her eyebrows are embroidered as are her eyelashes and she has
rosy pencil colored and blushed cheeks. She has shading under her eyes
and around her nose and pencil colored wrinkle lines.

Mrs. Claus has a mass of gray hair fastened in a bun with bangs under
her cap. Her cap is lined, and gathered and is attached to the top and
back of her head. Her square frame glasses sit on the bridge of her
nose.

Mrs. Claus is wearing her favorite holiday ensemble with matching vest
and cap. Her dress has two layers of lace trim on the bottom and is
gathered at the waist and neck. Her dress sleeves have two layers of
lace trim and are gathered at the shoulders and wrists.

She is wearing a long lined vest that is top stitched along all the edges and fastened in the front with DMC Embroidery bows.

Mrs. Claus is carrying a pine cone, berry and ribbon decorated basket that she made for the front foyer.

She might be cooking, sewing, crafting, cleaning, exercising, shopping,
nursing, bookkeeping, babysitting, decorating, reading stories, or one
of one hundred other tasks that need to be done. She loves her life -
but, she is one busy lady.

She's a little plump, but certainly happy and CERTAINLY able.

We hope you enjoy making "Mrs. St. Nicholas - A Little Plump, But Happy!"

Don't forget to tell us which Linda Walsh Originals E-Pattern* (*of equal or lessor value) you want emailed to you.
It's August, 3rd 2009 and I have witches on the brain. You see, I just posted an article on my Dolls Blog about the handmade witches that we have for sale in our Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website and have been thinking of writing a little history of witches article for my Linda's Blog.

So, I have witches on the brain! LOL LOL

In thinking about the witches I decided that the "Instant
Download E-Pattern" for the month of August for our Twelve Months of
Sewing Club should be one of my favorite Halloween witch e-patterns. I
decided to select LW167LWOEP "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch." She's a
Victorian witch and very mannerly to boot. Which is okay - I guess - as
far as witches go!

So, how does the featured pattern deal work?
Well, if you buy the "Featured Instant Download E-Pattern" you will get
a FREE Linda Walsh Originals E-Pattern* (*of equal or lessor value)
emailed to you. So, if you buy "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch" you
can choose another e-pattern* for FREE.

All you have to do is
tell us which FREE-Pattern* (*of lessor or equal value) you would like
in the comments field of the PayPal checkout. We will then email your
FREE E-Pattern to you.

Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch -14” Victorian Witch Doll E-Pattern - Victorian Holiday Series

Just CLICK this link to "Buy $5.95 "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch" Instant Download E-Pattern Now."

You'll be brought to the page "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch" is on in our Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website where you can add "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch" to your shopping basket and then checkout.

I think most witches will tell you that over the hundreds of years that they have gotten a really bad rap!

You see, most people are afraid of witches and afraid that either a spell will be cast on them or they'll be turned into a toad!

That is just NOT so for most witches.

You see, most are gentle and kind. And, most are really very humanitarian. In fact, most are very polite and VERY well mannered.

At least that's what "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch!" tells us. She
is anything but mean spirited and doesn't have a nasty bone in her
body. Again, that's what she tells us!

In fact she loves life, loves people, kisses babies
and loves everything and anything Victorian. So, she commissioned a
whole bunch of Victorian outfits to be made for her. She figures that
if she's going to be a Victorian witch then at least she should be
stylish.

"Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch!" is a 14" Victorian witch from our new Holiday Victorian line.

Lady Amanda is a self-standing witch cloth doll. She has an embroidered
and watercolor pencil painted face. She is wearing a cotton slip with
black fringe trim. Her beautifully coordinated outfit includes a
fashionable dress with black lace overskirt and satin skirt,
coordinated orange plaid dress bodice, ribbon bow tied at the high
waistline, and lace trimmed sleeves. Her short waisted jacket is lined
and has gathered and puffy lined sleeves.

Her lined cape is made of black satin and drapes beautifully from her
neck. She has a full head of thick and flowing gray mohair hair. Her
witches hat is really anything but a true witches hat. It is a rounded
black stain and lined bonnet with black lace trim, and 6 black lace and
orange plaid bows and coordinated beautifully with her outfit.

Lady Amanda, is the epitome of stylishness. Or, at least she thinks she
is. In fact, she'd argue with you that since the Queen made her a
"Lady" with full title and benefits that she deserves respect. Of
course, she'll never tell us who the "Queen" was that so endowed her
with her "lady" title. The Queen of the witches perhaps? Hmmmm......

We hope you enjoy making "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly Witch"

Don't
forget to tell us which Linda Walsh Originals E-Pattern* (*of equal or
lessor value) you want emailed to you. Since "Lady Amanda, The Mannerly
Witch " is priced at $5.95 this means you can select anyone ofour
e-patterns valued at $5.95 or less for FREE and have that emailed to
you.

Just tell us in the comments field of your PayPal checkout
which one of our Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns that you would like
emailed to you for FREE.

Have fun! That is - have some "witching" fun! Maybe you''ll have witches on the brain, too!
Twelve Months Of Sewing Club Featured E-Pattern For July 2009

It's July 2, 2009 and it is, once again, RAINING! In the month of June we had 23 rain days out of 30. Certainly NOT traditional New England weather.

Something has definitely changed with the weather in New England. I don't know what has happened or exactly what year it changed, but it is different than when I was growing up.

What hasn't changed since I was a child is my LOVE of the Fall season and the holidays that occur between September and December.

So, In thinking about the Fall season I decided that the "Instant Download E-Pattern" for
the month of July for our Twelve Months of Sewing Club should be one
of my favorite Halloween e-patterns. I decided to select LW170LWOEP
"I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman." In designing him I wanted to create something a little different for Halloween and he seemed perfect. Plus, he's a Victorian gentleman with Victorian clothing. And, we all know how much I love Victorian clothing.

So,
how does the featured pattern deal work? Well, if you buy the "Featured
Instant Download E-Pattern" you will get a FREE Linda Walsh Originals
E-Pattern* (*of equal or lessor value) emailed to you. So, if you buy
"I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman" you can choose another
e-pattern* for FREE.

All you have to do is tell us which FREE
E-Pattern* (*of lessor or equal value) you would like in the comments
field of the PayPal checkout. We will then email your FREE E-Pattern to
you.

I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman -14” Victorian Horseman Doll E-Pattern - Victorian Holiday Series.

Just CLICK this link to "Buy $5.95"I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman" Instant Download E-Pattern Now."

You'll be brought to the page "I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman" is on in our Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website where you can add "I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman" to your shopping basket and then checkout.

"I Lost My Head! Abraham" could hardly wait for his
Victorian debut. He was just dying to show you his extremely
coordinated Victorian outfit - amongst other things he was dying to
show you. Like his heads!!!!!

Why, he didn't even get any blood on his outfit? Now, that's gentlemanly - don't you think?

What's the problem? Are the heads throwing you off?

Actually, Abraham otherwise know as the "Headless horseman" is quite the Victorian gentleman.

He always dresses in his Victorian best. He's always coordinated. And, he's always the PERFECT gentleman.

Except when he can't find "Ichabod Crane!" Then he gets - well, a little nasty.

You'd think "Ichabod Crane" would make it easy on him. Oh, no! He has
to see a therapist who's trying to help him overcome his fears of the
"headless horseman."

Now how's Abraham supposed to do his job if Ichabod manages to overcome his fears?

"I Lost My Head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman" is a 14" Victorian Horseman doll from our new Holiday Victorian line.

Abraham is a self-standing horseman cloth doll - albeit without a head!

He is wearing a multi-layered lace trimmed shirt
with lace trimmed sleeves and coordinating lace trimmed ascot. His
cummerbund is a wide gold trimmed ribbon. His brown corduroy jacket is
lined and top stitched with rolled cuffs and folded back lapels with
buttons. He's also sporting a lined black cape.

Abraham is carrying the heads of two of his latest victims in his left
hand and his favorite ax in his right hand. He just wants to show them
to Ichabod Crane. Now why can't he find him?

We hope you enjoy making "I Lost My head! Abraham, The Headless Horseman!."

Don't

It's June 4, 2009 and right now I'm roasting. It's supposed to be Spring weather in New England, but it's hot.

When I was growing up in New England we always had 4 seasons - my two favorites being Fall and Spring. The Fall was always breezy and the air was always crisp. Spring was always cheery and mild. Winters were snowy and wet and Summer was just plain hot. Now, it seems like we only have two seasons - winter and summer. Oh, how I miss Spring and Fall.

In thinking about the seasons I couldn't help but think about Fall - my favorite season of all. Not just because I LOVE the weather but, because that's when my most creative "mojo" is flowing. For some reason my creative juices just love the Fall season.

So, I decided that the "Instant Download E-Pattern" for
the month of June for our Twelve Months of Sewing Club should be one

“Punky.” He’s Elmer’s secret pal. Only Elmer can see him and talk to
him. Punky likes Elmer but feels that Elmer keeps him from doing his
job. After all, he is a scarecrow.

Punky’s face is
embroidered and he has a cloth head and body. He has a lined vest,
bow tie, fringed shirt which he wears out to cover his pot belly. He’s
wearing pantaloons, black/white shoes, lined sculley cap and has raffia
for hair. He has his wooden rake all ready for the leaves. Or, maybe
he’s using it to swat those nasty crows.

“Punky - Elmer’s Little Scarecrow”
loves his nickname of “Punky.” But, he can't tell anyone his name or
anything about himself.

Why? Because he’s Elmer’s secret pal. You see - only Elmer can see him and talk to him.

Punky likes Elmer quite a lot, but
feels that Elmer keeps him from doing his job. After all, he is a
scarecrow. And his job is to scare away the birds and the crows not to
spend all day playing with Elmer.

But, he likes playing with Elmer so
he's learned how to charm his way around the birds and scarecrows. And,
it actually is working. Elmer is his friend. In fact, he's his best
friend. Not only that, but he's his only friend. So, he'll play along
with Elmer as much as he wants. For he knows that if Elmer doesn't
think about him he doesn't exist.

He has his wooden rake all ready for the leaves. Or, maybe he’s using it to swat those nasty crows.

Nope! Not Punky. His rake is all show. He is "The Charming Scarecrow" after all.

We hope you enjoy making "Punky - Elmer's Little Scarecrow."

his brothers, "Uncle Warren - A True Patriot!" and "Uncle Pat! Rah!
Rah! America", "Uncle George! A Patriot Thru and Thru!" is a true blue
red, white, and blue patriot. He might be the oldest of the brothers at
85, but he is more than willing to fight for his country and more than
willing to take his brothers on. If they need him to serve, he'll be
ready. Of course, at his age he can't fight, but he can still serve.
And, serve he will.

"Uncle
George! A Patriot Thru and Thru!" is a self-sitting Primitive Uncle Sam
doll with a cloth body and drawn and water colored face. He sports a
long wavy mohair beard, moustache, and head of hair. His cheeks are
blushed and rosy and are dotted with white highlights.

He is
wearing a fringed shirt with long cuffed sleeves that is gathered at
the waist. He is also wearing a lined vest that is tied with two floss
bows, and long fringed and cuffed pants that are gathered at the waist.
His patriotic stove pipe hat is lined and rests on his head. He has a
fringed scarf wrapped around his neck and tied in a knot in the front.

"Uncle
George! A Patriot Thru and Thru!" might be the most patriotic of the
three brothers. Just don't tell his brothers," Uncle Warren - A true
Patriot!" and "Uncle Pat! Rah! Rah! America" that. They might disagree
and arguments at their age - well, they just aren't good.

Let's just say they're all equally patriotic.

If
you want to make your own "Uncle George! A Patriot Thru and Thru!" you
can do so. His new pattern is available as an instant download
